Tips: Precautions in the use of slip rings

  • When using an electrical slip ring, follow our installation guidelines to properly install the slip ring and avoid exceeding the maximum voltage and current that the slip ring can withstand during use.
  • Avoid using the slip ring in high temperature and low temperature for a long time. Normally, the slip ring should work at -30℃ to 80℃. If it exceeds this range, the service life of slip rings will drop rapidly, and even result in serious damage.
  • Place the slip ring in a place with dry, non-corrosive gas, no strong acid and no strong alkali corrosion to avoid rusting of metal parts and reducing the insulation performance of electrical components.
  • Adjust the contact between the slip ring brush wire and ring groove. Preferably, press against the brush wire on the ring groove without affecting slip ring rotation. If the pressure is too small, it will lead to virtual contact and insufficient pressure. If the pressure is too large, the friction moment and wear of contact portion will be increased, then shorten service life of the slip ring.
  • The slip ring cannot withstand external gravitational impact, otherwise it will deform the slip ring and affect its internal structure.
  • When installing a slip ring, a reasonable radial clearance has a great influence on the life of electric slip ring. If radial clearance of the slip ring increases, the load zone in the slip ring will decrease and the maximum rolling element load will increase, thereby reducing the slip ring life.
