Tips: The Classification of Hub
HUB can be divided into passive HUB, active HUB, smart HUB and other HUB according to the way of processing the input signal.
Passive HUB:
It is the worst type, does not do any processing to the signal, does not extend the transmission distance of the medium, and has a certain impact on the signal. Each computer connected to this HUB can receive signals from all other computers on the same HUB.
Active HUB:
The difference between an active HUB and a passive HUB is that it can amplify or regenerate the signal, so that it extends the effective transmission distance between the two hosts.
Smart HUB:
In addition to all the functions of an active HUB, the intelligent HUB also has network management and routing functions. In the smart HUB network, not every machine can receive the signal, only the computer with the same address as the signal destination address can receive it. Some smart HUBs can choose the best path by themselves, which has a good management of the network!
